Tonight's project

I wanted to make a "taggie" for M when she was little and never got around to it.  It had to be super easy and cheap and it was!  So, this is for Ali, so she can see how fast I whipped it up after she gave me the dimensions this afternoon! :) (16"x16")

ps-W wanted to know if the baby would hurt herself on the ribbons :) so just to put you all at ease, the ribbons are sewn on three times over! :)

Book Reviews!

I've been reading a lot lately as well but haven't kept up on my reviews. First, I have to give myself Kudos for getting my cute little sister to stop re-reading Harry Potter and Twilight books for a little while by inundating her with Shannon Hale and Fablehaven this summer. Next summer we'll work on more "classic" books! :)
The Monk Upstairs-This is a sequel to "The Monk Downstairs" and a cute book about a lady who falls in love with an ex-monk. It was a little hard to read actually because the Grandma dies in the book after a series of strokes. It was a little too soon after Grandpa had died for me, I guess.

Fabelhaven 2-Rise of the Evening Star
I'm loving this series and wishing the third one was in paperback already so I could just buy it!! I love how it's magic and it's fantasy but it isn't shallow and it's original! The ideas and characters don't make me feel like I'm reading LOTR or HP all over again.

The Host-did I write about this one? my SIL said, It's not Twilight! Well, good, in my opinion! It shouldn't be. I liked the original story but I had a hard time getting past the beginning-I needed a little more background and detail to go on so I wasn't so confused. But I liked the premise and the characters-although I didn't picture Wanda that way at the end-fragile and blond and small. So in my head she's just going to look different! :)

Breaking Dawn-Loved it! of course! Loved it! I think Renesmee is a stupid name though and I was expecting a bit more action near the end but I won't say any more for now though because so many of you are still reading it.

My Latest Creations

These are all turned in iPhoto so I'm not sure what is up. I'll fix them later.  But I've been busy! And I can finally send the bags to my sisters and Mom!!

This one's actually for my Aunt Barb. She gave me some fabric to make her one. I still have another to make for her!!! Augh!!!!
And this one's mine.  I used the left over fabric from T's and now it's my work/church bag.  I also have some cute fabric that I'm going to make a diaper bag out of..... :)

11 days????

I have been watching several girlfriend's baby "tickers" on their blogs and when it got this low, I thought, wow! That's amazing, she's going to have a baby any day now!!!  Funny how it just doesn't feel that way when it comes to my own body! It's a little more surreal!

Progress?

Well, the computer is alive.  Barely.  It is still crashing but I went out first thing this morning and bought CDs to back everything up and now I can at least not panic every time it dies.  But when I got home to back up, it crashed again twice and then took so long to start up that I lost it! I really don't have the mental capacity this far along pregnant to deal with my crappy computer.  It has had problems since we got it.  And it made me crazy that I stayed up until midnight last night re-installing the operating system only to sleep horribly (darn garlic pizza), wake up way too early (M didn't know I stayed up late of course!) and then have it break again!!!!!! I got it working and have now copied all my documents, pictures and almost all of my movies.  And now I can breathe.

Progress in other areas? Not so much!  I had a week of the most consistent and persistent Braxton Hicks I've ever had and had I made any progress? Of course not!  Still a whopping ONE!  I guess this one is determined to stay in as long as she can like her big sister did!  I still have two weeks left and I'm not expecting much but I'm hot. And I'm tired.  And I don't like how when you're hugely pregnant in the summer, your feet swell. They didn't swell like this last time.  My shirt doesn't cover the panel on my pants. I'm that pregnant-not even all my maternity clothes fit my belly anymore! :)

Oh well.  I am however making progress in my projects.  I took M out to lunch to our favorite place and am trying to take her on an outing each day to have special mom time before we don't have much time period.  I quilted all of the baby's quilt.  I have to bind it now but I'm also trying to get a bunch of bags done before I don't have time for that either!  So we'll see.  I have one more bag to finish today and then I can finally send them off to Arkansas.  I have pictures. I'll post them when I can get the computer to cooperate on a more consistent basis! :)

How I Nest

This is where all those pictures would come in handy!  I have decided that I'm getting my nesting instinct out by helping Grandma.  We've been sorting and organizing all of her treasures for children and grandchildren to receive as gifts.  I mentioned the sorting before, but I've decided that she's helping me nest.  Especially after a whole evening of taking pictures and documenting her crystal collection and spending four hours sorting through the most amazing collection of linen-not just tablecloths anymore but table scarves, napkins, bath towels, hand towels. I didn't even know there WERE linen bath towels!  And she had tons!!!

The other pictures I would post are the baby's quilt, which is almost done being quilted. Yes, quilted for real! It's taken all week but I'm doing it a bit more than I did M's quilt (I just quilted diagonal lines on hers).  Then I would post pictures of my five latest bags that will soon be shipped to various family members (except I finally made one for myself!)

But for now, you'll have to use your imagination.  And someday, my laptop will return from the dead and I'll post pictures...

I HATE LEOPARD!!!!

I was raised an Apple girl.  I love their computers. I love how user friendly they are and how I actually have a clue how to fix it if it doesn't work. But I think they screwed up with the Leopard operating system.  I hate it!!!!!!! I think it's possible that if you have a brand-spankin-new computer, that maybe you could enjoy it and have it work for you, but if you put it on a slightly used computer that is used to panther or tiger, forget it!!!! I wish it had never been installed on my computer! I just replaced my hard drive and battery and now, a whopping three weeks later, my computer won't start up...again!  my pictures are stuck on my computer...again!  Argh!!!!!!!!
