My favorite part...

about Wyoming...windmills!
I love the wind mills!  I love counting them, watching them, there should be more of them!
in Colorado...spending the evening with family.  M and her cousin played so well and everyone loved little LG of course! :)
in Texas...the lovely Best Western in Shamrock, Texas that saved us from anymore newborn cries from the backseat!
in Oklahoma...more wind mills! I told you I love them!
and in Arkansas... HOME!!!!!!!!! safe and sound.  We survived!

What Princess are you?

We have discovered that everyone has their own Princess movie.
There are specific qualifications to be labeled a Princess movie:
1)  There must be pretty girls in it (otherwise who's going to be the princess?!?)
2) They must wear long, pretty dresses.
3) There must be pretty music to dance to while you watch said movie
4) A marriage and wedding somewhere in there is a must.
5) There must of course be a Prince to participate in said marriage.

M, well, she has a ton of Princess movies. She claims the whole Disney showcase. But when she wants to watch "Mama's Princess Movie" she means:
And Grace's Princess movie is:
Even Grandma Betty has a Princess Movie:
What would yours be????

Arkansas?!?!?!?

We keep getting funny looks when we tell them we're suddenly moving to Arkansas. It's like they want to say, "Really? Why?" There is a rhyme and reason, but most of all we feel like it's where our family is supposed to go right now. We always felt we wouldn't be here forever, we just didn't anticipate it being THIS short. But really people, Arkansas is not the middle of nowhere. Here's some proof...

See, now doesn't that look like a pretty place?

Will Work for Health Benefits

The job that brought us here has not worked out the way we planned.  W was hired by one boss and came to work for a different boss. He has never been able to do what he was hired to do and it has never been a good fit.  He has been an absolute trooper and worked hard for months through an awful situation and we've decided it's not worth it anymore.  I am so so proud of him and how great he's been through all of this.  So, even though we're scared to death, he quit his job before we've found another job.   We have felt very strongly that we need to look for a job in Arkansas right now.  We're so lucky because we've been blessed to live with my Grandma, we're not in an apartment contract, all of our stuff is in storage already, and so we're going to Arkansas quite soon to look firsthand for a job. We're excited because we'll be closer and much more accessible to BOTH of our immediate families and we're hoping that things will work out better.

my bday weekend!

First off, I still have no software, so I downloaded the pictures, but can't rotate them.  So turn your heads and enjoy! :)
Grandma Betty, M, LG and I spent Friday at the Utah State Fair!  It was a lot of fun!  M LOVED all the animals and so did the rest of us.  It's about 1/2 the size of the Minnesota State Fair but still a lot of fun. M surprised me (she's kind of a scaredy cat) by asking to ride the pony and she did great!!!  She was done before she had to be but she was so excited riding on the horse and so cute about it!
Grandma LOVES merry-go-rounds and once again M surprised me.  Last time I took her on one, she was scared but this time, she was obviously old enough and loved it as much as Grandma.  They even went again!!
LG was a perfect princess all day of course. She spent much of the day in the carrier and got a break in the stroller so she could look around for a bit.  Nursing in public was an adventure-she and I don't quite have our routine down to be modest in public- but we survived.
LG made her church debut on Sunday!  She was a hit!  Everyone of course agreed that she was cute and perfect and such a good baby!
For dinner, Grandma totally spoiled me!  I made a request for Lemon Italian Chicken and then W helped her fill in the gaps of what else I'd like. Grandma made her fabulous rolls and a homemade chocolate cheesecake with raspberry topping that was AMAZING!!!!!  We had Jeff, Katie and Ashton over for dinner and Laura joined us for dessert. It was lovely.

Saturday we don't have pictures of, but my husband treated me to a yummy dinner and bought me some jeans (my pre-prego ones are in cognito, probably floating around a storage unit somewhere) 29 doesn't feel that much older than 28 but it sure sounds closer to 30!

Times Like These

Remind me how much I love my husband.
Remind me how amazingly patient and forgiving my husband is.
Remind me how much strength and faith he has.
Remind me how much I love to talk to him.
Remind me how thankful I am for him in my life.
Remind me why I married him.
And so it goes.

life raft

I had a dream last night.  I was out in a boat on the ocean and a storm was blowing in.  A large life raft suddenly appeared with friends of mine in it.  They invited me to join them and stay safe in their raft with them during the storm.  Huge waves came up and all of a sudden we were holding on for dear life and rising way up into the waves and crashing down violently.  One particular wave, we were riding and ended up perpendicular to the water and we knew that we were going to crash down hard and go way under water.  My friend's husband who was in charge of the raft told us all to hang on and hold our breath and that we would all be fine.  I so did not feel fine.  See, I don't do well under water. I love being in the water but I can't hold my breath without holding my nose and I can't dive into water.  So I had to decide whether to hold on with two hands to the raft or hold my nose as we went under.  I was scared but I remember being calm.  As we went under, I didn't have a problem with holding my breath.  I could see, and I was calm and I could even breathe.  Someone was breathing for me.

I think I'm on that life raft right now.  And it's crashing down toward the water and I'm scared of going under the water.  I would like to believe that if I just hold on and hold my breath, it will be okay and someone will breathe for me, but that doesn't come easy for me.  So for now, I'm just trying to remember to hold on.

my LITTLE newborn?

LG had her two week check up yesterday.  She looks great but we have to convince her that it's okay to look to the left side as well as the right! (she keeps her head turned to the right and it's turning into torticollis)  She apparently likes the milk...guess how much she weighs now!!!

the new NORMAL

Today it was just the girls and me. It was our first day solo and we did pretty well. I feel like I sat on the couch a lot but that's just because I pretty much nurse all day right now.  Princess number 1 was really good and helpful and okay with waiting for help until I was done nursing...mostly.
The last of my wonderful helpers left last Friday. We piled into Uncle Karl's truck and took Grace back to school. I was soooooo glad that W took the day off to help us.  Especially when LG lost it an hour and a half from home.  She was good all day and then just so tired of her seat!  I can't blame her!
We drove around town, ran errands for Grace, and checked her into her apartment.  We drove by the Rexburg Temple and M threw a fit that we couldn't "go inside and get mairmaid right now"!  She then talked about getting married the rest of the trip.  And listed all the people coming to watch her get "mairmaid".  Admittedly, besides people in the car, the only one who made the list was cousin Emily who recently got married herself.  Apparently, it's going to be a small wedding. :)
We miss Grace!!!

thank you, mom, for coming.

Perspective

It's amazing how great $3.83/gallon sounds after weeks and weeks of $4.20/gallon!
