chapter 3

Good job, Sumpy Gump!

I figured my sister would figure out Chapter 3 first, but someone beat her to it! and I should have known it would be Jansen, considering W and I were just reminiscing fondly the other day about our Beauty and the Beast debate we had a few years ago about whether their was a part to Gaston's song where they couldn't spell his name right.

"And his name, G-A-S, T, GAST-E, GAST-O, oh! Gaston!!!" But how it's not in the newer versions of the movie! I swear it was in the movie!!!!

Anyway, chapter 3! Yes! It's the part of the opening song where Belle sings that "she won't discover that it's him 'til Chapter 3!" and apparently it's the part of the song M knows the best and so she sings it all the time! :)

Another recent favorite:
"teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday....my prince will come!"
Can you figure that one out? :)

Takes!

So, we are victims of media advertising. Yesterday, we saw an ad for cupcakes and thought they looked good. So while we were getting food for today's dinner, we got a baking mix and frosting. M got so excited to make takes! She wanted to help with every step of the process and did such a good job helping me mix and put cupcake liners in and pour and even frost!

2-year old isms

This morning in the car:
toot! (from the backseat)
Me: did you poop?
M: no, no poopy.
Me to Dad: M's going gas!
M: No, I going church.

Earlier this morning after putting her yellow Belle panties on, over her diaper:
M: I pincess Belle.
(proceeding to dance and sing around the room) chapter three! chapter three! chapter three! chapter three! chapter three! (over and over and over and over in a sing song voice with dance movements!)

Now, who can tell me why she sang those words, huh? :)

Fun Saturday

So, yeah, this was three weeks ago, but we had a fun day!M LOVED the wind chimes!

tight squeeze!

While Grace was here, we had to take her stuff to my aunt's house for the summer. We barely all fit! But we made it!

Our exciting TWO days in Wyoming!

M had the benefit of a DVD player-complete with 12 Dancing Princesses who she loved to dance with!
She wasn't too comfortable sleeping though! poor girl!

Yes, this is as exciting as it got!!

The Sweet Things

I am loving having more time with my best little friend. Even when I'm sick of princesses :) A few fun moments:

-Having M know and sing the words to all the princess songs on her CD (when she isn't demanding to listen to certain ones over and over...)

-Watching M devour an ice cream cone. She wouldn't even let me help. She wanted to finish it herself and ended up with ice cream all over her nose and lips. So cute!

-When M brushes her hair back from her face. It can't be described but I must get it on video because it's so sweet!

-When M wants my attention and yells, "Mom! Talk me!" Especially when she just wants me to watch her play or sing or dance.

-Having M interrupt my doing dishes to say, "Mom! Dance me, please!" I love dancing with her!

-Yesterday, when she sang along with "Belle's Song" and sang the words "bonjour, bonjour" but it sounded like "achoo, achoo". It was sooooooo cute!!!

(I can't find my camera cord, i'll get to uploading new pictures soon, i promise!)

Chocolate Milk, anyone?

When I was pregnant with M, my nephews Christian and Everett told me that I should name the baby Lemonade! They were convinced that "Ada" was a great name for a baby! I had forgotten all about it until I was packing to move and found a card from M's first baby bracelet with her first name, Lemonade, on it.

While we were driving out here, I would read the baby name book to W so we could talk about names now that we know the gender. We definitely found a few that we like but are not settled on anything yet! I asked M what we should name her and she said promptly, "chocolate milk" (chochit meeoke)! It was funny how appropriate her name was! We apparently are specializing in drinks! I think the baby after this one should be pina colada!

M has been a little dependent lately with all these changes. She wants to be carried everywhere and fed and babied a lot. I'm trying to be tolerant but also retrain her to be a big girl. The other day she was coming down the stairs and told me she needed "up"! She couldn't come down without being carried apparently. I told her babies are carried and big girls walk down by themselves.
Me: are you a baby or a big girl?
M: big girl.
Me: then you can walk like a big girl!
M: baby.
Me: babies take naps and drink bottles and can't walk.
M: big girl
Me: then walk like a big girl!
M: no, baby. big girl baby.

Yeah, two year old logic doesn't always work!

Cleared to Hire!

Apparently my hair follicles were clean! I passed and I can start working! I'm thrilled but also a bit bummed. I've really enjoyed my vacation. I know that we need this though to help with things at least until the baby comes. I'm hoping I can work a lot of Saturdays and maybe some weekdays, depending on daycare for Miss M.

A Baby Story

My grandparents have a satellite. We never have even had cable in our married life so we are so spoiled! I knew I would be and I knew I would have to watch myself. But I thought my issue would be not watching too many soaps! :) I have found that I'm constantly watching TLC's "A Baby Story" and shows like that. Seriously! Like I don't think about this baby enough!

It does make me excited though! We went to church on Sunday at Grandma's ward and there were a few families with girls M's age which made me excited. Hopefully she'll have friends here. It's weird since we don't know how long we'll be here but I want to get M settled with some play friends and hopefully settle in while we prepare for our next little girl!

Good Things Coming Together

I haven't reported much on our house because I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket...again! We were so bummed when the last renter fell through that I've been just quietly praying for this one to work out. And it is!!!!!!!!!!!

We were contacted by a family from Michigan who is getting transferred to MN this April. Ironically, to do the same thing that W got transferred here for! :) They have two kids and have been trying to arrange all of this long distance. So, we've had to be patient while they have friends look at the house for them. But last week, we got the lease signed, last Saturday their friend saw the house and gave them a good report, and this week we're getting the deposit and rent and they move in on Saturday! Yay!!!!!! We are hoping that they love our house like we did and take good care of it. I'm setting up carpet cleaning and W's parents have been fabulous about helping us get rid of the last of the moving trash, cleaning out the garage, and all of the other loose ends!!

So, hopefully next month, the renters will be in and we'll feel more resolution with things in MN.

Wish List or Got List?

I've had two people ask me if those were purchases or wishes! They were indulgences! M gets to wear her pretty red dress on Sunday! :) and she loves having "flowfer shoes" that fit again! :) (But Gma Jan, any time you find something cute, go right ahead! :)

I LOVE Children's Place Clearance!

But it's a good thing I don't get there much anymore! (I have discovered that I was spoiled by my Minnesota malls!)

feeling ishy

My Dad went home feeling sick on Tuesday afternoon. I didn't worry too much but yesterday felt so exhausted and not too great. Then today, Miss M just woke up from her nap screaming that there was a "mess" in her bed. She was so right! A mess of vomit! Ew!!!! I love how my reflexes don't kick in like normal but it was hard to clean it up with my pregnancy reflexes and upset stomach myself. And we have to feel better tomorrow so we can make it to Rexburg to pick up my little sister tomorrow! Argh!!! So we all have to feel better and recover soon!! Hopefully she just had too much lunch, she had a ton of fries while I was on a maternity clothes search.

Flowfer Pants

M is obsessed with jeans, aka "flowfer pants". (flowfers are code for flowers) Just about every morning, she begs to wear flowfer pants. For days, I tried to offer yoga pants covered with flowers and other pants with embroidered flowers. Heavens, more than half of her wardrobe has flowers all of them! But she would get all upset and point at my jeans. That was when it dawned on me that she really just loves jeans! and wants to wear them ALL the time! Which became a problem when we moved here and we didn't have the clothes from the moving truck for a week. All we had were her overalls which she insisted on wearing each and every day during our trip. Including every day here until the truck showed up. She was so excited this morning when I pulled out two more pairs of jeans (we've finally learned the correct terminology!) to stretch her wardrobe a bit!M in day two of her flowfer pants on th etrip out here.

Our Weekend Surprise!

My parents came for the weekend! We got here on Tuesday and we knew my sister was coming down from Idaho for the weekend for conference, but we didn't tell her my parents were coming. In fact, we didn't even know until Tuesday that they were coming. It was so fun though! My sister got here Friday night and we were hanging out with cousins when my parents walked through the door! However, I have to admit, I blew the surprise an hour earlier! Oh well. It was still great! We were able to watch conference together, relax, visit family and have fun. I think my parents should live near their girls, not their boys, but apparently my vote doesn't count for much! :)
I'll post pics soon hopefully!

What's a hair follicle test, you ask?

Well, I'll tell you!

I took my drug test for my new job on the wrong day. I didn't know you had to take it the day you got hired. I've never done this before. So, it was invalid.

To retake it, I had to go back to the hospital for a new form, across town to the testing center, and get a haircut.

They don't just pluck a hair to test, no!

You get your hair cut in three different spots. Yes, I have three bald spots, luckily hidden beneath my hair but I can feel them and it's like having stubble hidden on my head. Oh well. I've come to discover that it's really good that I'm not already working. One, I need a break! Two, I can help M get settled and just lay with her for a while. Three, I can help Grandma with things and four, I get to have fun with family all weekend!! They will love me, bald spots and all! :)

My Sister's Keeper

My eyes are still puffy from reading and crying! I have been wrapped up in Jodi Picoult's, My Sister's Keeper, for a week or so. It was recommended to me by several blogging friends and I found a copy at my Grandma's house a month ago. However, needless to say, I haven't gotten to it right away! Been a little busy!

It was a wonderful book! Fascinating and thought-provoking and with a major twist at the end that I didn't see coming. It's about a girl who was conceived so that she could donate cord blood to her older sister who has Leukemia. However, she has spent her life as a donor for her sister without ever being a part in the decision-making so she sues her parents for medical emancipation. The author swore more in her book than I was expecting, but otherwise, I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed seeing the issue from so many different perspectives and understanding where each one of them was coming from. I loved that while, it wasn't a happy ending in the traditional sense, it was the perfect resolution and brought peace to an awful situation! Read it!!

quick recap

We are in Utah! We got here after some delays and three long days in the car! Poor Miss M is never going to get in a car again! :) At least, not without a movie incentive! :) We had to spend a whole extra day in Wyoming and take a long detour all the way up to Casper just to get from Laramie to Rawlins because of a huge crash in I-80. We got very sick of Wyoming after two days!! We got here last night and I'm just trying to let M adjust and get comfortable in her new surroundings! I took her to Noodles for lunch for a treat, and it wasn't the same! They do it better in MN! :) We're looking forward to the warmer weather and spending time with family this weekend!
