I will freely admit it. I want one of these!
Mine is in a box somewhere. Its hand is partially mutilated by the dumb beagle we owned briefly when I was little. I loved Barbie and the Rockers and had Malibu Barbie but Peaches and Cream Barbie was my all-time favorite. And Mattel knows how to get at us nostalgic thirty somethings and brought her back.
I gasped when I saw her at Target. She looks so much the same! All I would do is keep her in a box and sigh every time I saw her. But a girl can dream, right?
And until she goes away, now I have a reason to go down the Barbie aisle too!!

how funny i totally remember having her too! i can remember the details of that dress very well she was/is gorgeous. thanks for the reminder.
Ah! I'm pretty sure she was my first! I remember when you guys moved to UT you had all the Rockers, and I was so jealous, I wanted to play with them all the time, but you were too old, that being said, I was probably too old too. I still have dreams about playing with Laura, and we are our current ages. I'm sure I will have fun accessorizing when Maci wants to play!!! lol
I totally grabbed it when I saw it at walmart then had the good sense to put it back when I saw the price. This was my first barbie! It is special cause it was the ONLY toy I had the Sue and Krista ever wanted. You can't imagine how important that made it to my life/self worth/identity. I am so keeping an eye on it for markdowns. Once that baby hits 20 bucks it is mine. I can pay 20 bucks for self worth. Last year when they released the first set of retro barbies Krista and I got my mom her first barbie. She wouldn't take it out of the box. Liesl tried everything, "Grandma, her legs are cold" (it was in a swimsuit.) "Grandma, she wants to wear her dress." My mom wouldn't budge. It made her so happy.
That is so funny! I wanted Barbie and the Rockers and after talking about it forever, I was so dissapointed when my mom gave me Jem and the Holograms, it wasn't the same thing. You should buy your barbie, I have a Vintage Cruella de Ville that sits proudly in her cellophane (sp?) packaging and I love that I have her, even if she's not a doll I will allow my girls to play with.
