I don't know the type of people in your book club, but I FINALLY finished a book called, The Historian. It's a vampire book that was long before the Twilight series. It's a bigger book though so I don't know how long you get to complete your books but I recommend it:)
I'm more of series kind of girl cuz I read really fast but my friend suggests you try "The Year of Living Bibically" She says it's funny, thought provoking and conversation starting for sure.
