Christmas Eve

I LOVE Christmas Eve! It is truly one of my favorite days of the year! This year was no exception! We started off our day with a breakfast with our friends, the Morgans (Phil works with W) and exchanging gifts there. Then we headed to Grandma for the festivities!

I love that Maria Mae helps the kids make cookies for Santa each year! It's something from her family that W also did in his family. I love that we're integrating this tradition into our Tobler-ness.
I love how excited my kids were this year for everything!

Christian and Ev try to pretend they're too cool for these activities, but we know they were just as excited!

After the kids ate dinner, they helped re-enact the Nativity while Grandpa read it from the Bible and we sang Christmas carols. We're a bit of a hodge-podge group but it works!
Mary (M), shepherd/wise man (Ev), Joseph/wise man (Jonas), angel (Lu), shepherd/wise man (Chrstian). Plus a few bears and reindeer for sheep and camels! :)

Lu was a sweet angel, until we gave the baby Jesus to Mary and then she was an angry angel!
Our sweet Holy family in awe
And our crazy, somewhat clueless shepherds :)
I mean, wise men!
Christmas morning, you've already seen some of.
But I do think I nailed it on Jake's "man apron" complete with police blue stripe!
Merry Christmas! I am thankful for this time to celebrate Christ's birth and mission. I am thankful for my wonderful family and this time with them!

I love making cookies for Santa. And I also love to see the Nativity scene characters each year. M is a lovely Mary and Lu is a great angel.
